Days 16, 17, 18 Quick Stats
The plan: Check out our full road trip plan here
Starting point: Asheville, NC
Ending point: Bradenton, FL
Miles driven: 1,000 miles
Cool things along the way: Blue Ridge Parkway, Governor’s Square Mall, Lake Talquin
We were on the last two legs of our road trip: Asheville, NC to Tallahassee, FL and then Tallahassee, FL to Bradenton, FL.
And to be honest we were completely out of steam.
A relaxing drive through the Blueridge Mountains
It had been almost exactly (is that an oxymoron?) 10 years since Lindsey and I had driven through the Blueridge Parkway.
Our last trip here was in 2005, when we went hiking with a group of people from college at Mt. Pisgah.
Even on a cloudy and rainy day, it was a beautiful drive.
Relaxing by Lake Talquin
We got to Tallahassee late on the 16th and used most of the 17th to watch the Seminoles and relax.
Unlike our first trip across the country it was too hot for a fire this time. The lake was beautiful as always though.
Some final trip stats
After 18 days, 5,461 miles, and about $3,000 we finally reached Bradenton.
The best part? I get to do it all over again with my dad after Thanksgiving (more on that soon!)!
