Day 6 Quick Stats

The plan: Check out our full road trip plan here

Starting point: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Ending point: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Miles driven: 518 miles
Hours traveled: 11:33 a.m. to 7:22 p.m.
Cool things along the way: Falls Park, Big Sioux River

Getting a little tired

It’s only day six, but we’ve already been in the car for over 50 hours. That coupled with the time change as we head towards the east coast, is starting to wear on us a bit. So, it was nice to have a pretty slow day.

We finally got the dogs a bit of exercise walking by Big Sioux River at Falls Park in downtown Sioux Falls. I wouldn’t say it’s as nice as our Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon, but it’s up there with one of the best city parks I’ve been to.

Driving, driving, and more driving

After our walk it was back in the car for about seven hours of driving. We drove all the way across Minnesota without stopping and into Wisconsin. Most of Minnesota was quite boring, but the colors of Autumn among the multitude of rivers and lakes in Wisconsin were more than welcoming.

We checked in early for the night to get some work done and catch up on emails. Looking forward to seeing The Windy City tomorrow!
