You ever meet one of those people that eats the exact same thing everyday for lunch? Or prefers to wear the same pair of jeans and shirt every time they go out?
Well, I’m that person.
And that personality trait also carries over into some of my writing habits. Luckily I don’t write the same sentence over and over (that would make for a really interesting book!).
I do however like to listen to the same song on repeat (via listenonrepeat.com) for weeks and months at a time.
Below you’ll find the 5 songs I listened to while writing Hope In Every Raindrop. I even listened to one of them while writing this 🙂
Justin Ward – “Let Her Go Cover”
If you haven’t heard of Justin Ward he does some awesome covers. You can check out more about him here:Â http://www.justinwardmusic.com/
One Direction – “Story of My Life”
Cold War Kids – “First”
Hozier – “Work Song”
Augustine – “Walkabout”
What’s strange is while writing my next book (more on that soon!) I have been writing mostly in silence. I think it has a lot to do with my recent move to Oregon.
Writing in Florida life always seemed so hectic, but in Oregon it feels a lot slower and calmer.
Perhaps things will change as I write more, and if they do I’ll be sure to let you know what my new jams are.
For now, I’d love to hear what songs you’ve had on repeat lately.

Kudos to you for being able to listen to songs while writing. I can listen to instrumental music (movie soundtracks, mainly. The Harry Potter ones have been on repeat for me lately), but songs with lyrics usually distract me.
