10 Pictures of Christmas Past

Earlier this year I digitized all of my old photo albums and uploaded them onto my computer in folders sorted by year.

It took forever…

But, since I now have thousands of old pictures just a few clicks away, I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of past Christmases (if that’s a word?).

1987

This is our beautiful brown living room. I think this room was only used for Christmas. The rest of the year you weren’t allowed to sit on the couches or chairs. Also, I wish I had a Superman shirt just like that still.

1991

This is probably my most memorable Christmas as a kid. We drove to Nashville, TN to have Christmas with my mom’s older sister and their family.

That TPX bat I’m holding was the best little league bat at the time, but all I wanted for Christmas was a Don Mattingly poster. So, when I felt cylindrical cardboard canister beneath the wrapping paper, I thought “Finally, a Don Mattingly poster!” I feigned my excitement for the bat and took my new skates for a spin around the block.

2003

My sister and I standing in front of our tree. When we were little our tree was so awesome. Decorated with tacky ornaments and mismatched lights. For some reason (as you can see behind us in the picture) my mom decided everything needed to match.

2004

Lindsey and I at the Gaylord Palms hotel (I think). The only other thing I remember is we went to the massive ice sculpture show.

2007

This is my first dog, Pace. I miss my baby girl.

2008

Every year that I was home for Christmas my sister and I have sat in these same spots to open presents.

2009

My sister and I with our doggies.

2011

All of those presents are for my sister and I. We’re seriously spoiled.

2013

This was the only picture I could find from 2013: my wife Lindsey and our dog Story posing by the tree. You can read more about Story in Faith In Every Footstep.

2015

This was the first Christmas Lindsey and I spent away from our families. Earlier this year we had moved to Bend, Oregon. We missed our families, but having a white Christmas was awesome.

What was your favorite Christmas?
